ECIT 2022

We have the sad duty to communicate that Jaroslav Smítal passed away on 9^th March 2022. He was not only an excellent mathematician but also a very good friend to all of us. Because of this very sad event we decided to dedicate ECIT 2022 to the memory of Jaroslav Smítal.

The 23^rd European Conference on Iteration Theory (ECIT 2022) dedicated to the memory of Jaroslav Smítal will take place in Reichenau an der Rax (Austria) between Monday, 13^th June 2022 and Friday, 17^th June 2022. The conference will be held in association with the International Society of Difference Equations (ISDE).

Originally it was planned between 15^th June 2020 and 19^th June 2020. Because of COVID-19 it had to be postponed for 2021, between 27^th June 2021 and 1^st July 2021. Again because of COVID-19 it had to be postponed for 2022.

Topics

As its name states the main topic of this conference is iteration theory. In particular among the main topics are discrete dynamical systems and functional equations. Questions of this type arise for example in biology, physics, economics and engineering.

History of ECIT

The first European Conference on Iteration Theory took place 1973 in Toulouse (France). It was continued 1977 in Graz (Austria), 1980 in Marburg (Germany), 1982 in Toulouse (France), 1984 in Lochau (Austria), 1987 in Caldes de Malavella (Spain), 1989 in Batschuns (Austria), 1991 in Lisboa (Portugal), 1992 in Batschuns (Austria), 1994 in Opava (Czechia), 1996 in Urbino (Italy), 1998 in Muszyna (Poland), 2000 in La Manga del Mar Menor (Spain), 2002 in Évora (Portugal), 2004 in Batschuns (Austria), 2006 in Gargnano (Italy), 2008 in Yalta (Ukraine), 2010 in Nant (France), 2012 in Ponta Delgada (Portugal), 2014 in Łagów (Poland), 2016 in Innsbruck (Austria) and 2018 in Murcia (Spain).

Talks

According to the tradition of the European Conferences on Iteration Theory there are 20 minutes talks with 5 minutes for discussion. There will be no parallel sessions. Moreover, there will be no special plenary speakers. Official language of this conference is English.

Contribution of talks

If you like to contribute a talk you have to submit an abstract. The Scientific Committee will assess these submissions and decide which submission will be accepted. Submissions of abstracts of suggested talks should be done here, where you also find more information including a LaTeX-class file and a template to download. The deadline for abstract submission will be announced later.
