Strobl26

June 7th - 13th 2026

Strobl, AUSTRIA

GENERAL

Registration and Participation

Strobl26 welcomes contributions in the form of short talks (25 minutes + 5 minutes discussion) or posters.

Due to the limited capacity of the venue, all participants are expected to present a contribution (talk or poster). This helps ensure a balanced and coherent scientific program.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the entire conference week (June 7–13, 2026) in order to benefit from the full program and discussions.

A registration fee of 250 EUR (125 EUR for students) is charged and covers participation in the scientific program, coffee breaks, and the conference dinner.

The registration fee does not include accommodation or travel, which must be arranged separately.

To register and submit a talk or poster, please visit ➥registration

Please note that the registration fees should be paid only after acceptance of your contribution.

Grant Applications

The Strobl conference is organized by the researchers themselves, at their own risk, and is financed through registration fees. As a rule, the Strobl26 organizers do not provide travel or accommodation grants.

That said, we aim to support young researchers, in particular those from underrepresented regions or with non-traditional academic paths. A limited number of registration fee waivers (up to five) may be granted.

If you are a young researcher and would like to apply for a fee waiver, please submit an application including:

  • the title and abstract of your contribution,
  • a related preprint (if available), and
  • a brief explanatory statement.

Applications must be submitted by March 30, 2026 to »strobl26.mathematik@univie.ac.at«.

Talks and Posters

The organizers consider poster sessions to be a central and highly valuable part of the conference. Two extended poster sessions are planned, with substantial time reserved for discussion.

We explicitly reject the view that talks are more valuable than posters and strongly encourage experienced researchers to consider contributing a poster.

To present a talk or a poster, please submit a title and abstract via the registration system. Please note that you must be registered before submitting an abstract: ➥registration

  • Length of contributed talks: 25 minutes + 5 minutes discussion.
  • Poster format: ideally A0, portrait orientation.

Please note that the conference rooms are not equipped with a blackboard.

At the conference venue, two copy machines are available (locations: “Bürglhaus” and “Seehaus”). They can be operated with the room key and allow black-and-white copies in A4 or A3 format. Copying costs will be charged to your room.

Accommodation

Participants are encouraged to arrive on Sunday, June 7, 2026, and depart on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The scientific program runs from Monday to Friday.

It is planned that participants will be accommodated at the conference venue, BIFEB (Bundesinstitut für Erwachsenenbildung). Single and double rooms are available. Please indicate during registration whether you are willing to share a room.

Accommodation is not included in the conference fee and will be charged directly to participants by BIFEB.

Room assignment at BIFEB can only be finalized after registration and payment of the conference fee.

Participants staying from Sunday to Saturday will be prioritized, followed by invited speakers. All other rooms will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Alternative accommodation is available in nearby Strobl or St. Wolfgang.

Please note that the organizers have no cooperation with external hotels. Be cautious of accommodation booking scams: scammers may call or email participants and offer to book rooms. Anyone claiming to do so is not authorized to represent the conference.

BIFEB reception opening hours:

  • Sunday, June 7: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm (keys will be deposited for later arrivals; please inform the organizing team in advance)
  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm

All conference participants are automatically registered for these meals. If you wish to opt out of a meal, please inform the BIFEB reception by Monday, June 8, 2026, before 9:00 am.
