"Hypocoercivity for a kinetic model for bacterial chemotaxis"

Evans, Josephine

This talk is based on a joint work with Havva Yoldas. I will discuss a kinetic model for movement of bacterial. This model has a hypocoercive structure and existence of a steady state is not a priori known. I will discuss a method for proving both existence of and convergence to a steady state. I will discuss the important ways in which this model differs from other hypocoercive models. I will also discuss possible extensions to the non-linear setting.
